We aim to accept and welcome as many Girl Scouts as our volunteer staffing and activity programs can support. Sometimes certain age levels have more potential campers than Day Camp can accommodate. Our Admissions Policy details how waitlisting is determined when more campers register than can be accommodated.
Campers (Entering Grades 1-6)
Campers are grouped in units of their own age/grade and are supervised by trained volunteer Jr. Staff members and program STBCs.
Campers participate in a wide variety of activities including earning badges, hiking, learning outdoor skills, outdoor cooking, crafts, games, singing and more.
Campers in 4th through 7th grade participate in Archery.
Campers will be accepted based on available volunteers to run units, according to the following criteria:
Unit availability at the grade level.
Child of volunteer staff member. (Volunteer must work 5 full days up at camp to qualify)
Current Gilroy Girl Scout Service Unit member.
Mt. Top Day Camp participant in prior 1-2 years and/or sibling.

STBC (Soon to be Crew) (Entering Grade 6) - This will be changing to 7th grade in 2027
The STBCs spend their time at camp preparing for their future roles as CREW for the following year. It is necessary that campers registering as STBCs are able to attend camp the entire week.
The Mt. Top Team is continually striving to provide all of our campers an excellent camp experience. Well-trained STBCs are critical to this goal!
The STBC unit will be filled based on our Admissions Policy.

ADULT VOLUNTEER STAFF (18 or older when camp begins):
Camp doesn't run without volunteers! We need volunteer staff to make it happen! This opportunity is open to all adults, not just Girl Scout leaders. No experience in Girl Scouting or camping is required. You must enjoy playing outdoors and having fun. We’ll give you lots of training and moral support. We need adults to fill various roles helping with food, riding the buses (supervising campers) and more.
Volunteers must register as a Girl Scout and complete the required training and background screening through Girl Scouts of Northern CA.
All adult camp volunteers who will be in contact with campers are required to take the Mandated Child Abuse Reporter Training (online, through the Girl Scouts of Northern CA Volunteer Learning Portal).
